Last night, on the sacred anniversary of our nation’s birth, the Independent American Party of Utah stood tall against overreach. They hosted a free 4th of July Dance & Firework Party in American Fork, open to families, full of community spirit, dance music, shared treats, and fireworks under the stars.
In a time when some governments seek to dictate how free people may celebrate their independence, Utah’s IAP chose liberty. They refused to bow to restrictions that would silence the joy of the people. For this courageous stand, we offer our heartfelt praise.
Their bold action echoes powerful moments in American history where the people themselves asserted sovereignty over overreaching authority. Just as colonists in Boston defied unjust taxes and regulations through the Boston Tea Party, dumping tea into the harbor to protest tyranny without violence, the Utah Independent American Party chose peaceful, community-driven celebration over compliance. By hosting a free, family-friendly fireworks display despite state-level restrictions, they demonstrated the living power of the people to nullify overreach in practice. Nullification, rooted in the principles of the Founding Fathers and anti-federalist warnings against centralized power, shows that when government exceeds its proper bounds, citizens can refuse to enforce or submit to such measures through lawful, local action.
This stand deserves strong praise. It reminds us all that liberty is not granted by permission but exercised by free men and women acting in good faith. The Utah party’s commitment to letting families gather, dance, share treats, and light up the sky in celebration of Independence Day embodies the very spirit of self-reliance and resistance to tyranny that our movement cherishes. While our organizations now walk separate paths, moments like this unite us in the shared fight for limited government and the rights endowed by our Creator.
We commend them for turning principles into action and showing what determined patriots can accomplish when they prioritize freedom over fear. Their example strengthens our resolve and offers a worthy model of civic courage worthy of study and emulation in our Private Town Halls.
Though our paths have diverged, we stand united in principle.
As the national leadership of the Independent American Patriots PMA, we are no longer affiliated with any political party. We made this deliberate choice because we believe true independence means self-reliance, acting on our own convictions, free from control or dependence on the ideological groupthink of parties or outside organizations. We felt the call to stop any appearance of hypocrisy and fully embody the independent spirit our name represents.
The Utah Independent American Party holds a special place in our hearts. They were part of the foundational journey that birthed our movement. Their ongoing fight against tyranny reminds us of the courage of our Founding Fathers. We may not align on every issue or tactic, but we agree wholeheartedly on resisting the expansion of big government and defending the God-given rights of the people.
A Call to True Independence
George Washington warned in his Farewell Address against the “baneful effects of the spirit of party,” which he described as leading to despotism. As the national organization, we took this warning seriously. We do not promote party politics. Instead, we fight for something deeper: personal responsibility, self-sufficiency, and communities rooted in the Three Patriot Pillars: the Calling of Independence, the Tenets of Liberty (Faith, Virtue, Law, Knowledge, and Liberty), and the Doctrine of Governance.
If you feel drawn to party involvement, check out the Utah Independent American Party, but we strongly encourage you to examine any group carefully. Ensure it aligns with your morals, principles, and standards. But we invite you to join us in the Independent American Patriots PMA, a private membership association dedicated to preserving liberty through education, preparedness, cottage industries, Private Town Halls, and mutual support.
Here, we teach the founding principles, American history, and practical self-reliance that built this nation. We operate in the private domain, focused on building resilient families and communities without reliance on government systems.
